Web Design: The Last Bookstore

Problem:
Solution:

The Last Bookstore is California’s largest used and new book and record store. Unfortunately their website is confusing and not user friendly.

In this project I used IA to reorganize the site content, as well as redesign the look of the site from the ground up.

Summary:

In this concept project I used IA, card sorting, and other UX methods to redesign a website for a local bookstore. This bookstore is famous in Los Angeles, but unfortunately their website leaves much to be desired. It was dark, confusing and had more tabs that you could possibly need. Also it seemed that the checkout cart was split into two separate websites, making adding multiple items extremely confusing.

Role:

In this project I was responsible for every step of the design process.

Methods:

Heuristic analysis, IA, card sorting, competitive & comparative analysis, interviews, affinity mapping, personas, user flows, sketches, wireframes, prototyping, and usability testing.

Deliverables:

Research, mid fidelity prototype.
